Overview of Industrial Networking
 Abstract:
Industrial networks have different requirements than commercial, business and home networks. In a non-industrial network, short lags in communication with email or other network devices can be little more than inconvenience. In an industrial controls network, however, the results are costly and potentially catastrophic. Attendees of this course will learn methods of providing a reliable deterministic (real-time) and efficient network.
In addition, industrial networks are often subject to extreme environments, noise, heat and shock. This mini-course highlights the latest industrial equipment and network designs.
